Lazlo's Corner
Sometimes I know exactly what I am going to talk about here. This week I didn't, until I decided to talk about something that is music, but is not the type of music I would normally play on BlowUpRadio.com or get to mention in my New & Notable column. However, this deserves mention because of the pure genius of it, and what I assume was a massive amount of work to put this together.
A lot of musicians do FAWM, or February Album Writers Month, where the challenge is to write 14 songs in 28 days.
Laree H. Cisco, an artist that should be familiar to regular listeners of BlowUpRadio.com, is among the many who did this challenge every year.
As I learned the other day, there are other challenges within FAWM, such as "10x10", a challenge to write a medley of ten songs that are each 10 seconds long.
This seems like a massive undertaking to instill an entire song into 10 seconds. Laree made it more so by making each song a "sound alike" of a 80's artist/style on this brilliant, and hysterically funny, "Smash Hits of the 80's (10x10).

It literally is a throwback to K-Tel and Time/Life, or more recently "Now That's What I Call", compilation ads.
In fact, when I e-mailed Laree about this, he reminded he did a previous one back in 2019, "Now That's What I call the 90's (10x10)", that is equally brilliant.
