Lazlo's Corner

Next week I hope to be able to give you more info on this year's Banding Together webathon for the Spondylitis Association Of America then is below... like maybe the compilation track listing and performance schedule... no guarantees, but that is the hope.

In the meantime I'd like to take a quick moment to recognize another New Jersey entity that gets little press attention, NWSL (National Women's Soccer League) team Gotham FC.

If you saw the women's soccer team take home the gold at the Olympics this summer, six of the players on the US National Team are on Gotham FC, but I didn't see any local media coverage of that (and see limited coverage of NWSL in general).

Last October, Gotham FC won the NWSL Championship, still no media attention.

I have to assume the media will ignore that Gotham FC is going to be at the White House on Monday because they won the championship last year (no, I don't know why it took 11 months for the White House to invite them, but better late than never).

So I am brining this up here so at least one local media source, albeit one that is more focused on NJ's original music scene, recognizes Gotham FC's accomplishments.

Congrats Gotham FC!

Also, congrats to Gotham FC on clinching their spot in the playoffs 6 weeks before the end of the season. No nail-biting on the last day of the season like last year.

Below is the first information about this year's Banding Together benefit webathon for the Spondylitis Association Of America, airing on BlowUpRadio.com October 18th-20th.

I am so excited for the amazing lineup we have for you this year!

And I would like to point out, since we are over a month away, there is still room if people are interested in performing and/or donating a song to the compilation.

BlowUpRadio.com's 2024 Banding Together Webathon For The Spondylitis Association Of America Celebrates 17 Years With Annual Benefit This October

South Amboy, NJ - New Jersey internet radio station BlowUpRadio.com - Where NJ Rock Lives, announces its 17th annual Banding Together Webathon to benefit the Spondylitis Association Of America. Taking place Friday October 18th through Sunday October 20th on their internet radio station, over 30 acts from New Jersey and all over the globe will perform half hour performances, as they raise money to fund research and provide the programs and services to help the community suffering from this debilitating disease.

During Banding Together BlowUpRadio.com will have a link to a special donation page on the Spondylitis Association Of America's website. Every donation of $10 or more will get an exclusive download of this year's compilation featuring over 30 previously unreleased songs.

Spondylitis is a genetic rheumatoid arthritic condition that causes inflammation and fusion in the vertebrae of the spine. "When I started doing the Banding Together benefits in 2007 after my wife was diagnosed with Spondylitis, I was amazed at the outpouring of support from musicians that wanted to help," says Lazlo, the founder of BlowUpRadio.com and the organizer of Banding Together. "Here we are now in our 17th year, and I am still overwhelmed by the positive support of musicians, and people who donate each year to help find a cure for this debilitating disease."
