Lazlo's Corner

I saw a lot of people talking about Eurovision on Mastodon. Wile I dislike the thought of competitions... "best" or "1st place" is subjective to the whimsy of those who vote in it. If Sinatra fans vote on best Taylor Swift song, you're likely to get a much different result than if you polled the Swifties, but I digress... while I dislike competitions, the thought of having a big event where a bunch of NJ artists perform one song with a elaborate set up is appealing. An event like this could draw an audience outside the usual people who listen to local music and come out to the shows. This could open doors for local artists to a bigger audience.

The funny thing is, I have no time to do anything of this magnitude, but I have thought this through and realized it would probably be most feasibly done on this local scale with artists filming their performance, like a live music video, to submit, and then all the videos could be spliced together with an MC talking between each performance.

So if there is anyone out there with the time, make this a reality, because I think it would be cool (and would be happy to help however I could).
