Lazlo's Corner
It is the last Lazlo's Corner of 2022, and I want to thank you all for being part another year of our over 22 year journey of being Community Radio for NJ's Local Original Music Scene
When I started BlowUpRadio.com back in December of 2000 I had less than 700 songs by New Jersey artists. In 2022 we played over 700 new songs from New Jersey artists on our weekly BlowUpRadio.com Presents New NJ Music show.
We've come a long way, as has the ease for musicians to record and release music.
Even with having to stop doing interviews due to my day job and personal life keeping me busy, I still conducted 46 interviews this year.
I hope by spring of 2023 things will settle down in my life to where I can do interviews again, as I truly miss doing them.
The one thing I know we have on tap for 2023 is our second annual benefit webathon for National Foundation For Transplants. There is more info on that below.

And a reminder, BlowUpRadio.com is preparing for its second annual benefit webathon for National Foundation For Transplants (the NFT that has value): https://transplants.org
The NFT saves lives by removing financial barriers that delay or prevent organ transplantation. One of the many people they have helped is Catherine Wacha (who is working with me to put this benefit together), who received a kidney transplant, that was necessary due to having Lupus.
The webathon will take place on March 4th & 5th, 2023
Like our other webathons, the plan is to do a compilation of previously unreleased original songs, and a webathon where musicians perform live (due to the ongoing pandemic performances will be done remotely via Skype or pre-recorded)
There are 2 ways for musicians to be involved:
1. I am looking for previously unreleased original songs (which can include acoustic or live versions of previously released songs, remixes, etc.) for this year's compilation. I ask that all songs be original (no covers) and that they remain exclusive to the compilation until June 1st, 2023 (3 months from the webathon). The songs will be due by February 17th, but if you have something ready, please feel free to send it now. Otherwise, if you think you can have something for the compilation, please let me know.
2. Looking for musicians to perform a 30 minute live set, via Skype (as with all our broadcasts, the video is for us to see each other, only the audio will be broadcast on air), for our webathon. We will definitely be broadcasting on March 4th, if enough people are interested we will do March 4th & March 5th. If you prefer, you can pre-record a set, but please make this an exclusive set (i.e. not a set livestreamed already)

"The benefit we did in 2022 was a huge success and the folks at National Foundation for Transplants were incredibly grateful for not only the money we raised but the awareness we all brought to the organization. It is an honor to be able to help them out again."
