Musicians: Looking for Performers & Songs for Banding Together benefit for Spondylitis

INTERVIEW ARCHIVE: Interview: Little Dipper (Michael Nagy) (NJ)

Lazlo's Corner

After the lack of productiveness I spoke of in last week's Lazlo's Corner I pulled my shit together and not stuff done.

First off, has been redesigned to try to put all the information on the main page. We are Your #1 Source For All Things In NJ's Local Original Music Scene Since December 2000, and we want to stay that way.

We love feedback and suggestions, so if you have any please let us know.

Second, as I mentioned last week, we will be doing Banding Together our annual webathon to benefit the Spondylitis Association of America this October. I have now worked up the official info for interested musicians. If interested read below and let me know.

Third, this Thursday will be the last Guitar Pull for now. As much as I have enjoyed doing these every Thursday since shortly after the pandemic started, with the pandemic (hopefully) winding down, and the weather being nicer (though you wouldn't know it from this weekend), now seemed like the time to stop doing this weekly. When it is safe, I hope to find somewhere to do these live again once a month. If anyone knows a good place I should check out, let me know.

Most of you know I do an annual benefit for the Spondylitis Association Of America, a genetic disease which my wife is afflicted with.

Each October we release a compilation and do a webathon where musicians perform live usually from my house, but last year due to the pandemic we moved it to be remotely via Skype. Since Spondylitis causes a compromised immune system, we will be sticking with the remote webathon again this year as we try to use an over abundance of caution.

There are 2 ways to be involved:

1. I am looking for previously unreleased original songs (which can include acoustic or live versions of previously released songs, remixes, etc.) for this year's compilation. I ask that all songs be original (no covers) and that they remain exclusive to the compilation until January 1st, 2022. The songs will be due some time in September, but if you have something ready, please feel free to send it now. Otherwise, if you think you can have something for the compilation, please let me know.

2. Looking for musicians to perform a 30 minute live set, via Skype (as with all our broadcasts, the video is for us to see each other, only the audio will be broadcast on air), for our webathon. The dates will be Friday October 15th thru Sunday October 17th. If you prefer, you can pre-record a set, but please make this an exclusive set (i.e. not a set livestreamed already)

If you have any questions, please let me know. I am happy to answer them, especially since I know I am cramming a lot of info into this.

Also feel free to forward this to any musicians you know who may be interested.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to hear from you.
