Hey Everyone,

It's a big week here at BlowUpRadio.com. This Friday is another BlowUpRadio.com Free Concert at Buddie's Tavern, and it's a good one.

Opening the night is The Crayons. Once from NJ, now residing in Albany, NY, The Crayons band of indie-pop rock is always a crowd pleaser, and with former Crayons member (and current Souls Release frontman) Nick Ferriero there, will a reunion be in the offing? Next up is Nick's band, Souls Release. They don't play out much these days, so when they do their always entertaining show is even more special. Closing out the night is new band The Break Evens. The Break Downs feature former members of Mazeffect and Slappy, and continue to bring forth their pop-punk-rock in this new line-up.

The show starts at 9pm, and as always the show is FREE! Ample parking, good drinks and food are available. Come on out to Buddie's Tavern, 277 Johnsons Lane, Parlin (Sayreville), NJ.

And while you should come down in person to witness this show, if you can't for some reason, BlowUpRadio.com is going to bring the show to you.

We'll be broadcasting the show to you live on BlowUpRadio.com!

This will be the first of our new regular series, "Live From Buddie's Tavern"

Just one of the many new things coming to BlowUpRadio.com's webcast.

More new shows will be coming to the webcast soon!

This week on Lazlo’s Den we have New Music Tuesday featuring new music from NJ bands The Break Evens, and Fairmont, and also new music from Reckless Sons, Phashara, U2, and more!

And Thursday night we’ll be welcoming The Break Evens into the studio for what is sure to be an entertaining hour. Don’t believe me, then give a listen to the Mazeffect interview in the Interview archive on LazlosDen.com. Both Jay & Mel from Mazeffect are in the Break Evens.

And now it's time for this week's Pissed Off!

I was all ready this week to attack the presidential candidate I support after reading this story on Friday.

Presidential candidate Obama may sponsor Cup car at Pocono race
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/tom_bowles/07/11/obama/index.html?cnn=yes

It flabbergasted me that Barack Obama, who says things like:

"If we reduce our consumption of oil, that's what will reduce gas prices"

"Well, I don't believe that climate change is just an issue that's convenient to bring up during a campaign. I believe it's one of the greatest moral challenges of our generation. That's why I've fought successfully in the Senate to increase our investment in renewable fuels. That's why I reached across the aisle to come up with a plan to raise our fuel standards. And I didn't just give a speech about it in front of some environmental audience in California. I went to Detroit, I stood in front of a group of automakers, and I told them that when I am president, there will be no more excuses - we will help them retool their factories, but they will have to make cars that use less oil."
- Barack Obama, Speech in Des Moines, IA, October 14, 2007
(http://www.barackobama.com/issues/energy/)

would consider advertising on a Nascar race car, a "sport" that consumes obscene amounts of oil in an effort to race around a track. A "sport" that isn't just dangerous for the drivers (a funny car driver died just a few weeks ago at Raceway Park, right here in NJ: http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/06/22/sports/NA-SPT-CAR-NHRA-Driver-Killed.php), but is an environmental danger to our planet.

Thankfully, yesterday I noticed numerous stories saying that Obama has passed on the Nascar advertising.

But this made me think more about my problems with auto racing.

What could be done to make Nascar fans happy, so that they could have their car race without the wastefulness of gas and environmental damage?

I think I've got it.

Use electric cars that draw their power from an overhead grid, and a metal floor like they do in bumper cars. I’ll bet they could make electric cars for that grid that would go as fast as current race cars, but without using any oil and doing far less ecological destruction. As a bonus, they could have clowns come out in bumper cars between races and have some real fun.

So what do you think Nascar fans?

That's all for this week folks.

Peace,
Lazlo
