Newsletter 3-30-08

Hey Everyone,

I know this is a day early, but I have jury duty tomorrow which fouls up my usual schedule of getting things done. However I am doing my civic duty by being picked for jury duty, something I take quite seriously despite my previous experience as a juror. Maybe one day I'll speak about my previous experience, but tonight I am just trying to get the newsletter out, which sadly means no "Pissed Off!" this week.

On to BlowUpRadio.com info.

We've got new music on BlowUpRadio.com's webcast from Brian Fitzpatrick, and The Groucho Marxists.

New reviews on BlowUpRadio.com of albums from The Polyjesters, and R.E.M.

BlowUpRadio.com’s next Free Concert at Buddie's Tavern will be on Saturday April 12th, and feature sets by Mike Ferraro & The Young Republicans, Alter Ego (feat. Nick from Souls Release), and Kate Hart.

And you can mark your calendar’s now because my (Lazlo) birthday bash will be at Buddie’s Tavern on Saturday May 10th, with some extra special bands playing.

Don't forget to download the March / April 2008 New Music Sampler. It's FREE at BlowUpRadio.com, and features new music from: Bushwhack, Mazeffect, The Majestic Twelve, I/O/I, Chris Collins, Vicky Emerson, Billie Burke Estate, Blank Pages, Fiskum, Brian Vander Ark, Nerve Tonic, and Slappy.

And now it's time for this weeks concert picks:

Lazlo (BlowUpRadio.com)
I don't know anything about the venue Savannah's, but nonetheless, if you can find it, it seems like the place to be this Friday when two great local rock bands invade it. Super Satellite blends garage rock, with pop hooks, and Little Dipper mixes garage/punk with alternative pop.

Jim Testa (Jersey Beat)
Saturday April 5
HEARTS AND LUNGS, Divine Sign - The Court Tavern, 124 Church St. New Brunswick - 10 pm, $8, 21+

I don't have any information about the headliner (they don't seem to have a MySpace page) but Asbury Park's Divine Sign features Kerry McNulty and Lindsey Miller, originally an acoustic duo now grown into an accomplished alt-country quintet.

Gary Wien (Asbury Music)
Picks for the week include a rare Monday night show at the Saint in Asbury Park with Erin Sax Seymour and Lorenzo Bertocchini (from Italy) along with special guests. Then on Wednesday it's the second "A Night In Progress with an Evening of All New Material" hosted by Rick Barry at the Saint. This is an interesting show where songwriters are "forced" to come up with an entirely new set of material. The first show was extremely well received and this one should be as well. The lineup includes Rick Barry, George Wirth, Mike Black, and Arlan Feiles.

“Pissed Off!” will return next week.

That's all for this week folks.

Peace,
Lazlo
