Hi Everyone, So where was the newsletter last week? As many of you have seen me post here recently, I am part of the team involved in putting together the Black River Music & Art Festival that will take place on Saturday August 19th. This has kept me very busy of late, and will likely keep me busier than usual right up until the show. This will mean some weeks there will be no newsletter. Trust me when I say the end result will be something great for the local music scene, and well worth the amount of time taken away from massive updates to BlowUpRadio.com. The website will still be updated with daily concert updates and such, and the webcast will be updated weekly also, but you may notice shorter messages here, or other limitations while I am trying to direct some of my time towards working with a wonderful group of people to make the Black River Music & Art Festival the best local outdoor music fest! One of the things that had already been cut from BlowUpRadio.com due to time constraints was BlowUpRadio.com on the 'Pod, our podcast. While the future of that is on hold, I would like to recommend to those seeking a good indie music podcast, to check out Jim Testa's Jersey Beat Podcast. Featuring lots of NJ based bands, and a few out of state indie bands, this podcast is not only chock full of good music, but also music history, as Jim tells interesting tidbits about the bands he plays. I highly recommend the podcast. Speaking of Jersey Beat, BlowUpRadio.com will be co-sponsoring another Folk You! with them this Wednesday night at The Goldhawk in Hoboken. And the line up is incredible: Geb (Echofission) Fragile Planet John Francis Wednesday night, 9pm, The Goldhawk, 936 Park Ave (at 10th st.) in Hoboken, is the place to be! And While I'm promoting shows, don't forget my birthday bash on May 13th! And lastly, a few weeks ago I asked for you thoughts on BlowUpRadio.com's webcast. Several people said they didn't like a lot of what was played. Remember, when you listen you can vote for the songs you like and the songs you don't. Today I cleaned out a bunch of really low rated songs. Let me know what you think. Peace, Lazlo |

In 2003, Barb and Zach were two Wheaton College seniors facing the same concerns that most “soon to be” graduates struggle with.
