On December 15th, 2000 I started BlowUpRadio.com with the goal of helping to promote the local NJ original music scene. The webcast and site (as well as the local music scene) has grown in ways I could never have imagined when I started this little hobby 4 years ago. The site went from being a small 3 page site when I didn't even understand HTML, to now being many pages, fully coded in HTML now with even a little bit of Java. The last four years working on this site (and meeting and soon marrying the love of my life), have been the greatest days of my life, and for that I want to thank each and every one of you for your support of BlowUpRadio.com. I promise to continue working on new ways to make BlowUpRadio.com (and hopefully in the process the local music scene) better. BlowUpRadio.com certainly wants to make your New Year's Eve better, and that's why we are proud to be sponsoring a *** FREE *** rocking new year's show at KROGH'S with 3 rocking sets by Souls' Release! If you've never seen Souls' Release before than let me tell you there is no greater way to spend your New Year's Eve than watching these guys rock out. They bring full on feeling, energy and emotion, and quite frankly they are just a lot of fun to see live. So spend New Year's Eve with BlowUpRadio.com and Souls' Release at KROGH'S. As mentioned last week, I started sending out nightly bulletins to all of BlowUpRadio.com's My Space friends. Each bulletin features a list of all known local band shows happening the next day and also includes the band and MP3 link of the day. So if you haven't signed up to be our friend, go now. While you're there check out some new blog posts, one all about Asbury Lanes, an amazing venue in Asbury Park where you can drink, see cool rock bands, bowl and eat sushi all at the same time! The other blog post includes some new "at first listen...CD reviews", including new discs from Souls' Release, Lexington Down, Downshallow and American Watercolor Movement. So go check out our My Space page for all that and more. And lastly, I totally redesigned the photos section of the site so you can now see a nice and neat slideshow of the photos as opposed to the cluttered mess it used to be. Now that that is fixed, I will soon add a bunch of new photos to the site. Have a happy holiday everyone! Peace, Lazlo |
