2. MESSAGE FROM LAZLO
Hi everybody! Lot's to talk about this week as blowupradio.com is growing, expanding and changing. Don't worry, we're still dedicated to the NJ rock scene.
First off, check out our new web design. We have a new Splash Page and a new Main Page. Our new Main Page has a lot more information directly on it and (hopefully) can help steer you where you want to go on the site more easily. Of course the website is still at the same address, www.blowupradio.com.Drop me a line and let me know what you think of the new design.
Second, you can see on that Main Page (and below under our Review section), that we have two new writers in our Review section, and a brand new column. Long time news writers Jim Cook and Ali McDowell (who also moonlight in the band, the Atom Beat), have begun a new regular column reviewing local shows. The first installment of the new column, titled The Atom's Beat - The Latest From the Jersey Rock Community, is a detailed review of the blowupradio.com sponsored show at the Broadway Central Cafe from August 16th. You can read the whole thing Here.
Speaking of the Broadway Central Cafe, blowupradio.com will be having a special acoustic evening there on September 11th, as a way to remember the tragedy and at the same time move on. They say music heals the world, so let's gather together for an evening of song. The show will be a benefit for The Memoria Project - Creating a lasting tribute to the victims of September 11th. More information on this next week as we are still confirming the line-up for the evening. You can read more info on The Memoria Project in Chris Barry's upcoming Shore World article in the Aquarian.
The other thing that I am told heals is Poetry. Our Literature Corner has been a little bare lately of new submissions that aren't by some guy named Lazlo (who's latest attempt at a masterpiece, "I wanna be your John Cusack" was just posted to our Poetry Page). If you have any Poetry or Short Stories (or if you want to write Reviews for blowupradio.com, send the stuff on to lazlo@blowupradio.com.
That guy named Lazlo (don't you hate when people talk about themselves in third person) is also hard at work on a new monthly show called, Lazlo's Den. What is it? More info soon, but I will say this: Bands that don't reside in the Garden State that have wanted to get on to blowupradio.com, may finally have their chance.
