1. MESSAGE FROM LAZLO

Happy Labor Day! Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend. Mine has been just peachy, thanks for asking.

Friday, I checked out the record release party for Sea of Otters down at Hooligans. A rollicking good time was had as Sea of Otters played tracks from their new CD, "friggin fabulous" (which sounds boasty, but truly is a friggin fabulous album). You can check out their new song, "retrospect", on blowupradio.com.

Opening up for Sea of Otters, was Slushpuppy, who showed up to rock, and didn't disappoint. They have also managed to get more MTV airplay then most major label bands, having their song, "see more" (which is heard regularly on blowupradio.com), appear on 2 episodes of MTV's soap opera, "Spyder Games". In addition to that, Slushpuppy just signed a deal to allow the use of their music on "the Real World". Check out blowupradio.com's Message Board to read the quote of the week, which comes from Slushpuppy's lead singer, Dawn Botti.

I also wanted to get a quick plug in for Red Bank's own Kevin Smith and his new film, "Jay & Silent Bob Strikes Back". He has always spoken fondly of his home state, and the Garden State's music scene, and the movie is hilarious! So, if you are looking for a good funny satire about the internet and Hollywood (and plenty of references to his previous films), I highly recommend this film.
